For the past ten years, my focus and my passion have been consumed with the brand development of The Heathman Hotel. As an early adopter of many of my current strategies, I have been able to create distance between the Heathman Hotel and its competitive set.
More important, by embracing excellence as a core value, we have garnered numerous awards including being named AAA four-diamond award winner for 23 consecutive years, Conde Nast Traveler’s Gold List, Travel and Leisure’s Top 500 Hotels in the World, Travel and Leisure’s Top 100 Hotels in North America. Trellis Restaurant was named Top 10 new hotel restaurants by Bon Apetit in the March 2008 issue. During my tenure, we have won 5 Adrian Awards including three Gold medals for excellence in marketing in the Hospitality Industry.
In 2006, I was asked to create a new business and expand the brand of The Heathman Hotel by ownership. The Portland property was managed by a third party company (my employer).
